More whammy bar! Ha. Supplication is terrific. A decent video/ board circulates now-- the first set only.

Always figured this was a great show but till I found this source was hard to really rate fairly. Also so many epic shows this fall tour I feel this get's kina lost in the shows before & after. It's very good! awesome Supplication, China Rider, He's gone, Black Peter. TLEO, Jack Straw.
Enjoy & again great job by the taper w/ no boards available.

I really like the juxtaposition of CC Rider with Althea. For me it is a perfect showmanship - heat the crowd up with one and then cool them off, but not too much, with the second. Jerry must've thought so too. Most of the time when they were both played in a set, they were played one after the other - not always, but enough to call a trend.

Like Rob Eaton's excellent recordings of 10/12/83 and 10/17/83, this is my favorite aud source for this show. This Eaton pull has the most warmth, bass, and overall balance in the mix. I would give second place to the E. Dodd upload.

This recording has the most Garcia guitar in the mix, which is critically important during China Rider. This version has got one of the nicest builds into Rider of any version. Check out how Brent peals the organ to where it sounds like subway wheels and then Bob throws in some train horn sounds on the slide while Phil percolates underneath with Garcia throwing layers of riffs on top of all of it. It has always given me chills.
Some good Bobby hollerin' on Estimated and a nice little transition into He's Gone. Cool crows interaction too.
4* for slightly lesser quality. NIce Pre-drums
